Founded in 1987 in Houston, Texas, Pipeline Supply & Service is a superior distributor of pipeline consumable products and equipment servicing the oil and gas pipeline construction, maintenance, and repair industry.
In 2012, Pipeline Supply & Service acquired Allied Industrial Supply, North States Supply, and Wasatch Supply. These acquisitions expanded Pipeline Supply & Service's industrial product market share within the oil and gas pipeline market.
In 2013, Pipeline Supply & Service acquired Pipeline Specialties & Supply, R & D Supply, and 24/7 Supply as a strategic alignment for expansion into other energy shale plays for the oil and gas pipeline market.
In 2014, Pipeline Supply & Service acquired Industrial Air Tool and merged to form PSS Industrial Group (PSSI), bringing two outstanding independent distributors into one.
In 2014, PSS Industrial acquired Pipeline Inspection Company, a US manufacturer of SPY® brand coating, foil/film and geomembrane inspection equipment, jeep meters, and pig tracking equipment serving oil and gas, coating, lining/film industries for over 65 years.
In 2015, PSS Industrial acquired Sam Winer Motors and Power Tool Supply and Service. Sam Winer Motors expanded PSSI’s reach into the OEM industrial and automotive material handling markets. Power Tool Supply and Service added tool repair and service with state-of-the-art tools and expertise.
In 2016, PSS Industrial acquired Airtech Spray Systems to expand into the blast media as well as the paint and coating spray markets. Airtech Spray Systems offers customized solutions, such as plural component spray systems and custom paint booths.
In 2017, PSS Industrial acquired Ace Specialties as an expanded presence into the Permian Basin shale play. Ace Specialties provides pipeline, plant, industrial supplies, and tools to the energy and construction industries.
In 2021, PSS Industrial Group, announced its entry into the pipe, valve and fittings (“PVF”) market to expand the extensive product lines currently offered through its distribution network.
Phillip Goodwin is the Chief Executive Officer at PSS Industrial Group. Prior to this role Phillip served in a number of capacities most recently as President of Midstream Operations. Prior to joining PSSI, Mr. Goodwin was with Distribution NOW since 2011, his last position held being President. Before being named President he served as Vice President of Sales & Operations, Director of Operations, and Director of Business Development. From 2008 to 2011, he was Director of Business Development at Xerox Corporation. Mr. Goodwin began his career in 2004 with Booz Allen Hamilton onsite at NASA's Johnson Space Center, where he led the strategic planning and logistics team for the International Space Station and built logistics and financial models for energy companies. He holds a B.S. degree in Systems Analysis from the University of Miami and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
James (“J.R.”) Rounsavall serves as the Chief Financial Officer at PSS Industrial Group. With over a decade of experience in CFO roles within both public and private sectors, J.R. has specialized in private equity-backed companies. His recent positions include Chief Financial Officer at H-D Advanced Manufacturing, AXIOS Industrial Services, and Total Safety. J.R. began his career at Ernst & Young, LLP in the audit practice, where he served manufacturing and distribution clients and gained valuable international experience through a secondment. He earned degrees in Finance & Banking (with Honors) from the University of Arkansas and in Accountancy from the University of Houston. J.R. is a CPA licensed in Texas.
As the CTO, Edward (Ed) Hemphill is responsible for corporate supply chain, marketing, and IT/IS. Prior to PSSI Group, Ed founded Macston Services that provided technical and corporate expertise to energy related businesses and litigation consulting on federal court intellectual property lawsuits and international arbitration disputes. Prior to Macston, he was the Vice President of Drilling for Proserv Operations preceded by the Vice President of Engineering, Drilling Division position at Forum Energy Technologies. Ed began his career at Cooper Cameron corporation followed by various positions including the Global Director of Engineering and Quality Assurance during his 10 years of service at Hydril Company and 3 years with General Electric post the acquisition of Hydril Company in 2008. Ed graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in mechanical engineering.
Angela Atkinson serves as the Vice President of Commercial for the Midstream segment at PSS Industrial Group. With 24 years of dedicated service at PSSI, Angela has held various roles since she joined the company in 2000. She began her career in sales, specializing in products that are now core to the business. From 2003 to 2015, Angela managed the Coating Supply and Services LLC division, a former PSSI company. From 2015 to 2023, she served as the Portfolio Manager, supporting all PSSI divisions in coatings, integrity, and Rockshield categories. In 2023, Angela transitioned into the role of Vice President of Commercial, bringing a wealth of expertise and knowledge to her position. She is recognized as a Level 3 NACE Certified Coating Inspector, holds a legal assistant degree from the Center for Advanced Legal Studies and is also a certified personal trainer.
Forrest Lister serves as the Vice President of Operations for the Midstream segment of PSS Industrial Group, bringing extensive experience in project management and operations. Forrest began his career in 2011 at Wasatch Supply, a former PSSI company. From 2013 to 2022, he managed major projects and supported branches nationwide, playing a pivotal role in establishing satellite locations for significant projects such as the Dakota Access Pipeline, Rover Pipeline, Nexus Pipeline, and REA expansion. In 2022, Forrest was promoted to Director of Business, leading a team across the western half of the US, including Houston. His effective leadership and business acumen led to his promotion to Vice President of Operations in July 2023, when he relocated to Houston, Texas, to further enhance PSS's operational capabilities. Forrest's early career included serving as a certified firefighter and EMT, and he also worked as a wildland firefighter from 2010 to 2011.
Clay Meredith serves as the Vice President of Sales and Operations for the Downstream segment of PSS Industrial Group. With a robust background in sales management across diverse industries, Clay brings extensive expertise to his role. Before joining PSSI, Clay held the position of Regional Sales and Operations Manager at Gemaire Distributors, a prominent player in the HVAC industry. In this capacity, he successfully led both the residential and commercial segments of the business, demonstrating his strategic acumen and leadership. Prior to his tenure at Gemaire Distributors, Clay made significant contributions at HD Supply Facilities Maintenance, where he held multiple roles and led a sales team specializing in the multifamily segment. Clay is a graduate of the University of North Texas, holding a B.S. in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering.
Renae Hotz serves as the Vice President of Sales for the PVF Division at PSS Industrial Group. After graduating from college, Renae began her career at WB Supply, where she contributed to its formation and growth in various capacities including inventory, procurement, contracts, sales, and mergers and acquisitions, ultimately rising to the position of President at WB Supply. Following WB Supply's acquisition by Basin Holdings in 2013, Renae transitioned to the role of Executive Vice President until 2022. Since 2022, she has been instrumental in leading the sales efforts for the PVF Division at PSSI, leveraging her extensive experience and strategic vision. In 2017, Renae was recognized as one of Denver Business Journal’s Top Women in Energy. She holds a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin.
Nick Essary serves as the Vice President of Operations for the PVF division of PSS Industrial Group. With extensive expertise in finance, inventory management, and operations within the oil and gas industry, Nick has held pivotal roles in leading companies. His previous positions include key roles at Cudd Pressure Control, Thru Tubing Solutions, and within the RPC organization, where he honed his skills in inventory management and operational efficiency. From 2013 to 2019, Nick held various leadership positions at DNOW, including Branch Manager, Regional Manager, Business. Development Manager, and Director of Operations, driving business growth and operational excellence. Before entering the oil and gas industry, Nick spent six years in distribution and sales in the pet food industry, excelling as a Regional Sales Manager at Canidae Pet Foods.
Rene Grado serves as the Vice President and Head of Transformation at PSS Industrial Group. Previously, he served as the Director of Pricing. Before joining PSSI, Rene worked at Distribution NOW, where his last role was Director of Innovative Solutions. He also served as Regional Manager of Operations and Manager of Operational Effectiveness. From 2007 to 2013, Rene was with Booz Allen Hamilton at NASA's Johnson Space Center, where he handled strategic planning and logistics for the International Space Station. Rene holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas and an MBA from Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM).
Denisse Wray serves as the Director of HR and Payroll at PSS Industrial Group. With over 25 years of experience in Human Resources, Denisse has a comprehensive background in overseeing employee relations, compensation and benefits, training, safety, legal matters, payroll, and employee development. Denisse has held significant leadership positions including Vice President of HR, Safety, and Payroll for several manufacturing companies, specializing in union environments. She has also served as the Director of HR for various oil and gas companies across Mexico, the US, and Canada. Denisse graduated with an LLB from Law School in 2003 and holds an LL.M in Labor and Corporate Law from Mexico.
